Condolences

Condolence From: Brian Booker
Condolence: I was saddened to hear of Donnie's passing. I have known Donnie for 20 years. He always had a story to tell and was always entertaining. Most of all, in his work, he never settled for mediocrity, and would always stop what he was doing to help someone who needed his help. I will miss his friendship.

Condolence From: Robert Nelson
Condolence: I have known Don a few years, but I always enjoyed stopping in and talking with him about transmissions. He was always so very helpful answering my questions. I will miss him.
I ask God to comfort his family.

Condolence From: John Neidig Jr.
Condolence: I was shocked to hear of Donnie's passing. My father, who passed on Monday, worked with Donnie at Ford and Donnie helped us both on many of our project cars. I remember the first time I met him I was a teenager and Donnie was rebuilding a transmission for my father. I marveled at the knowledge he had and his extensive shop tucked under his home. I remember asking him, "how did you get know so much about transmissions?", and in his typical manner he told me a story of how he had saved his money for repairs on a transmission and the man did a botched job. He said the man then offered to teach him so he could fix it himself.

The last time i saw him was about a year ago, I had a problem with a 3-speed transmission for a project bronco. My father said, let me call Donnie he might have a suggestions. Of course his suggestion was, "bring it over and we will take a look!"

Taking a look involved 3 hours of disassembly and reassembly not just taking a look. He refused any compensation, although I insisted, and what i got was a complete education on a standard transmission.

I feel your pain as I mourn my father as well. But know there wasn't a nicer, honest, and genuinely good character that was Donnie and he touched so many lives.

Condolence: My deepest sympathies and prayers to Gloria. Dawn, Ray Joe, Tyler and Austin. Tina, Jeremy, and Madison. Ryan and Jackson. Don was such a fine man and of great character who will missed and most assuredly remembered by so many. May God bless the Williams household, easing their pain and lifting their sorrow, while giving them strength in the days ahead.

I love you all and feel fortunate to call you family.

Condolence: What a shock - Have known him 40+ years - worked with him at Ford Plant since about 1978 or 79 until retirement. Come to see him at least once a year. So sorry to hear of his passing, I will miss him, as thought of him as one of my oldest and best friends. G.M.
