Charles “Rob” Abernathy, 54, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO, 64055. A service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Eastside Baptist Church.
Rob was born on November 9, 1962 in Independence, MO to Charles Sr. and Pat Abernathy. After high school he attended the University of Missouri where he earned a Bachelor’s in Economics. He married the love of his life, Tracie, on October 24, 1987. Together they have two children, Alex and Jake. He loved coaching the kids’ sports teams, cooking, MU football and nature walks with his family. Most of all, Robbie enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and parents.
Robbie will be remembered in the hearts of his wife Tracie; daughter Alex and husband Michael Atcheson of Lees Summit, MO; son Jacob Abernathy of Blue Springs, MO; parents Charles Sr. and Pat Abernathy of Independence, MO; sister Tracy Ames of Independence, MO; brother Richard Abernathy and wife Mickie of Lees Summit, MO; grandchildren Michael and Charlie Atcheson; plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
