Bernard Eugene “Bernie” Adams, 82 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Golden Living Center. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Bernie was born February 17, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to John T. and Louise G. (Henneberger) Adams and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Northeast High School. He proudly served in the US Army from 1956-58. He had worked as a manager for Montgomery Wards for 41 years and later for Northeast Manufacturing for 14 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and was an avid KC sports fan. He was Baptist by faith. He is survived by; his loving wife of 55 years, Jeraldine of the home; a son, Stephen Adams of Blue Springs, MO; a daughter, Sandra K. Mueller of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter-in-law, Ilene Geiger of Kansas City, MO; a sister-in-law, Shirley Adams of Belton, MO; 5 grandchildren, Casandra Montgomery, Drake Montgomery (Katie), Kyle Adams, Ryan Adams and Christina Henshaw and 3 great grandchildren, Nevaeh Blessinger, Peyton Montgomery and Jadean Maldonado.
