Cecilia “Cece” Adams, 67, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, January 16th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the chapel. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held from 7:30 – 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17th at Vesper Hall in Blue Springs, MO.
Cece was born October 19, 1947 in Inarajan, Guam to Raymon and Joaquina (Rivera) Meno. They were a naval family who moved frequently. She graduated from high school in Richmond, CA and attended a local junior college. Later, she married Don Adams and together they had four wonderful children. Cece worked for over 20 years at Nova Center, school for the behaviorally challenged. On top of cleaning facilities, driving vehicles, and staying late to help at the residential homes; she was mostly a para educator and was well respected by her students. She also helped when students participated in Special Olympics. After her retirement, she took to caregiving for an elderly friend, Francis. Outside of work Cece enjoyed playing softball and volleyball in adult leagues, as well as cheering on her children in their own teams. She was an amazing mom and her children remember her as gracious, caring, and selfless with a good sense of humor and a contagious laugh. Cece is loved and will be missed.
She leaves behind daughters, Dawn Celine Decker (Scott) of Buffalo, MO; and Crissy Wilson (Mike) of Blue Springs, MO; sons, David Adams of Blue Springs, MO and Eric Adams (Jennifer) of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren, Logan and Trevor Decker; Devon and Alexis Wilson; and Josie and Jackson Adams; sisters, Ruth Van Zuiden and Evelyn Collaco; former husband, Don; and special friend Angie Carlisle. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Raymond Joseph Meno. The family encourages contributions to the Lymphoma Research Foundation in her memory.
