Charlotte Clara Allega

Charlotte Clara Allega, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020, at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO. She was 86.

Charlotte entered this world on November 9, 1934 in Lexington, MO, the child of Otto and Charlotte (Ruebel) Knapheide. A few years after graduating from Lexington High School, she married her beloved husband William W. Allega and together, they made a house a home in Independence, MO. Charlotte was an Executive Secretary for JC Penny. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, travel and playing cards. She also adored getting together with her “Veranda Ladies”. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Charlotte leaves behind her children, Michael Allega of Lee’s Summit, Vicki Roberts of Grain Valley, and David (Melissa) Allega of Seabrook, TX; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her brother, Otto Knapheide of Lee’s Summit; as well as several friends, neighbors and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; son-in-law, Tony Roberts; and her beloved yorkie, “Gabe”.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to John Knox Village Hospice. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00pm, Wednesday December, 30th at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055.
