Henrietta G. Allen

Henrietta Allen passed from this life on Tuesday October 3, 2006 at the Groves in Independence, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the chapel. Donations may be made to The Groves Community Hospice. Henrietta was born in Oilton, OK on March 14, 1921 to George and Jennie Garrett. She spent her childhood in Kansas City, MO. She was baptized into the R.L.D.S. church at the Bennington Heights congregation where her parents were active members. She was married there to William Allen on August 28, 1937. Henrietta was a LPN and a private duty nurse for Bess Truman from 1977 until Mrs. Truman passed away. Her husband preceded in death in 2004 as well as a daughter, Patty Wilson in 2002. She is survived by a sister, Alice VanDenburg and a brother George Garrett both of Independence, MO; her surviving children Sue (Pete) Petentler and Amy (Robin) Harvey of Independence, MO Dr. Williams G. Allen of Olathe, KS, Bette (John) Sellars of Springfield, MO, Jan Willey of Kansas City, MO and James (Choon) Allen of Fullerton, CA; 23 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the Groves Community Hospice.
