Kenneth C. Allen

Kenneth C. Allen, 86, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday April 13, 2004 at the Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 2:00 pm Friday April 16, 2004 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. Mr. Allen was born August 17, 1917 in Pleasanton, KS to Claud and Hazel (Brooks) Allen. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1936 and attended Oklahoma State University. Ken was employed by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority for 37 years retiring January 1, 1980 as Safety and Claims Supervisor. Mr. Allen was a member of Fairmount Christian Church. He served in the Army during WWII. Ken is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann E. (Lucas) Allen of the home; daughter JoAnn Karaff of Grandview, MO, son Ken and wife Debra Allen of Independence, MO, daughter Linda Moranville and husband Jim of Lompoc, CA; 6 grandchildren Kim Driskell, Kasey Guardiola, Kelly Allen, Nathan, Bradley and Tyler Graves; 13 great-grandchildren; aunt and uncle Mildred and Dave LaRue of La Mirada, CA; and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles, and sister Doris.
