Patricia Dee Allen, 67, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away at her home with her family at her side Friday, October 22nd after a 2 year battle with cancer. Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, October 26th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Monday at the chapel. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice or Christ United Methodist Church. Pat was born October 23, 1936 in Independence, MO to Howard and Ruth (Chappelow) Allen. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1954 and attended Rockhurst College. Pat worked for Ford Motor Company in Claycomo for 35 years as Salaried Personal Administrator before retiring in 1992. Ms. Allen was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Independence where she found great peace and comfort during the progression of her illness. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Howard Allen, Jr. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Barbara Chrisman, they shared a lifetime bond of love, laughter and companionship; nieces and nephews who were so important in her life: Julie (Daryl) Bredemeier; Denise (Philip) Skahan and Richard Sewell, Jr, they cherish the great contributions she made in molding their lives. Also surviving are her great nieces and nephews, for whom she provided grandmotherly love and support, and who affectionately called her "Pitty Pat� or "Gran Pat�: Eric, Jamie Rae and Ryan Skahan; Brett, Kristen and Kyle Bredemeier; Shelby and Darby Sewell. Her family was very special to Pat, as she was to them. She will be greatly missed by all.
