Sandra Lea Allen, 78 of Chillicothe, MO, formerly of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Morningside Nursing Home in Chillicothe, MO. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 with cremation to follow services. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the Green Hills Animal Shelter 3041 E. 10th St., Trenton, MO 64683. Sandra was born September 22, 1940 in Moline, IL to Cecil Marion Noland and Nola (Fifield). She spent most of her life in Independence, MO, graduating from William Chrisman High School before attending Graceland College in Lamoni, IA. She had worked for the Council of 12 at the Community of Christ Headquarters from 1963 until she retired in January 31, 2001. She enjoyed playing piano and organ for church services, crocheting and sang in the Messiah Choir. She was a member of the East 39th St. Community of Christ. Survivors include; a daughter, Theresa Vandever of Trenton, MO; a son, Robert Allen of Licking, MO; a brother, James Noland and wife Bonnie of Independence, MO; her former husband, Billy Allen of Trenton, MO; 2 grandchildren, Taylor Vandever and Leah Vandever and 4 great grandchildren, Audree, Liam, Hudson and Annyston.
