William B. “Bill” Allen, 86, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away, Monday, October 13, 2014 at Shangri-La Rehabilitation and Living Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donation may be made in his name to the American Heart Association. Bill was born June 11, 1928 in Independence, MO to Joseph and Stella (Underwood) Allen. He had worked for over 45 years as a steel fabricator for Midwest Steel until he retired in 1996. He enjoyed traveling and was a CB enthusiast. He was a member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church. He was married to Betty Jean (Swift) on August 2, 1946; she passed away on October 21, 2010. Survivors include; a daughter, Sue Alumbaugh and husband Don of Blue Springs, MO; a son, Skip Allen and wife Linda of Independence, MO; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
