William A. Allen, 89, of Independence, MO passed away on October 26, 2007 at the Research Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Independence, MO. Burial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, at Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, Illinois. William was born on July 10, 1918 in North Carolina to Eldon and Ina Allen. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII. In 1978, William retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad. He also enjoyed serving as a volunteer for St. Mark’s Catholic Church, where he was a charter member. William was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Allen. He is survived by one daughter, Eve Martin; two sisters, Lorrine Gray and Mildred Brown; two brothers, Frank and Ronald Allen; three grandchildren, Linda Brown, Nicholas Novasel and Brad Martin; and one great grandson, Aaron Roberson. He will be dearly missed.
