Eric J. Allison was born on August 30, 1969 to parents Joseph Allison and Luana Bessmer (Elwell). He was an avid fisherman—going any chance he got, and a collector. He particularly loved antique pharmacy bottles and had quite the collection. He enjoyed going to antique stores and would spend hours there if he could and usually had to be dragged out. He loved being outdoors–golfing, hiking and working in his yard. He also loved gardening–watching his first passion flower bloom or tomato grow. He enjoyed the hard work of landscaping projects and did many in his yard and others. Music was also a big part of his life. He loved to listen to all genres and especially connected to the lyrics. Another passion of his was playing pool. He was on several weekly leagues in the area.
Eric never met a stranger. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, he would do anything for you. His goal in life was to make others happy and to make them smile.
He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1987 and shortly after met his wife Deanna in 1988. They were married in 1991 and welcomed a daughter, Kaitlin, in 1992. He was always a hard worker and had many jobs until he landed a spot and became a member of IBEW #124 and went to school to become an electrician. He earned a reputation for being one of the best control installers in the KC area. He loved his work and was so proud of what he had accomplished. His greatest joy and accomplishment he would tell you however, was his daughter Kaitin and then she blessed him with a beautiful granddaughter Lyla Rae, to love and dote on. He had an endless supply of energy and always had time to play–still being a kid at heart himself.
Eric could always fix anything and had a unique ability to craft a solution to solve any type of mechanical or design problem. He wouldn’t give up until it was fixed. He would always joke that he could fix anything except himself. He now has the peace he was searching for as I’m sure all those that left this Earth before him greeted him at the gates of Heaven.
He leaves behind his wife Deanna, Blue Springs, Mo., daughter Kaitlin (Kelcey) Moore and granddaughter Lyla, Lee’s Summit, Mo., mother Luana Bessmer and sister Denise Allison, both of Grain Valley, Mo, brother-in-law Matt (Lisa) Collins, Blue Springs, Mo, mother-in-law Sue Collins, Independence, Mo, nieces and nephews Derek Allison, Megan Crone, Lauren Collins, and Connor Yeagle, great nephew Evan Perusse, many aunts, uncles, friends, former co-workers and his beloved dogs Sunnie and Gordo.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Allison, father-in-law Andy Collins and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
