Clifford Altis

September 11, 1921 — November 21, 2013

Clifford Eugene Altis departed this world on November 21, 2013 and entered into eternal rest. A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23rd at Carson Speaks Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 25th at Providence Cemetery, Cabool, MO. Clifford was born to Daniel B. and Mabel (Gitt) Altis on September 11, 1921 near Cabool, MO. He grew up on a dairy farm and graduated from Cabool High School in 1941. After high school, he continued farming as well as bee-keeping and working in the local grocery store. On April 9, 1944 he married Rutha Belle (Branstetter). From this union came a daughter, Patricia Ann (deceased as an infant) and a son, Timothy Eugene. In l951, Clifford went to work as an electrician in the Kansas City area under the auspices of Local Union #124 IBEW. He worked as a member of the local union for the next forty years before retiring in the early '90s. He attended the Finley Engineering School and was a Master Electrician working on jobs throughout the Kansas City area. Early in his life, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and lived his life according to Christ's teachings. He was an ordained Deacon in the Free Will Baptist denomination. Clifford was a loving husband, superb Father, and a doting Grandfather, as well as, an excellent neighbor and friend. Throughout his life his mission was to serve God, love his family, and help his fellow man. He loved life, and all who knew him are better for it. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and his daughter. He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years of the home, Rutha; his son Tim (and wife Sherry); two grandsons Daniel and Samuel (and wife Kaylan); and a step-granddaughter, Jill Hill (and husband Jay) and his sister Doris, in addition to many neices, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
