Dana Alvis, 68, a resident of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 under hospice care in her home with family by her side. She was born March 25, 1952 in Independence, MO to Johnny and Peggy Griffin. She grew up in Independence and was a Truman High School Graduate in 1970. Dana and Sherrill Alvis were married January 5, 1973 and they had one son, Tommy Alvis, who also resides in Lee’s Summit, MO. She was blessed with beauty through and through, was smart, witty, always the first to show up if someone needed help. She was an incredibly talented, creative artist among many other traits that she inherited from her mother. She loved her music and her family. Dana’s large close family loved her dearly. She will be missed until we are all united in our eternal home. Her survivors include; her husband, Sherrill Alvis, and son, Tommy Alvis. She is also survived by; her mother, Peggy Griffin, and her sisters, Linda Scott, Debbie Richardson, Jayne Fasse and husband, Greg; her nephews, Jim Scott and wife, Deanna, Billy Grabb, Cody Richardson, Brent Fasse and wife, Heather and Clint Fasse and wife, Rachel. She had four great nephews and four great nieces. Her father, Johnson Griffin, and brother, Jay Griffin, have preceded her in death. There will be a private memorial service Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, Mo 64055.
