Shirley Jean (Fox) Amen, 89 of Blue Springs, MO., passed away on March 8, 2018 at St. Mary’s Manor. She was born in St. Louis, MO on October 29, 1928 to Alfred and Henrietta (Koob) Fox. Shirley was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Overland, MO. Shirley and Eugene met and graduated from Ritenour High School. They were married for 51 years and blessed with 3 children: Kathy (Bill) Croson of Blue Springs, MO.; Mark (Sherry) Amen of St. Louis, MO.; and Jill (James) Watson of Jasper, Indiana. Five grandchildren: Sarah (Bryan) Ehlen, of St. Louis, MO., Jennifer (Joe) Damiano of Kansas City, MO., David (Wes) Amen of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Stephanie (Nick) Klemetson of Waverly, Iowa, Tom Watson of Indianapolis, Indiana. Eight great grandchildren: Nickolas, Reece, Lily, Charlotte, Hannah, Matthew, Evie and Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob and Buddy, and husband Eugene. Shirley was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church where she was active in the Lutheran Woman’s Missionary League (LWML). A memorial service will be at Timothy Lutheran Church, Blue Springs, MO. On Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family will follow the service. The family requests memorials to be given to LWML or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital – her favorite charities.
