Gordon W. Amerine, 90, Independence, MO passed away Oct. 7, 2006. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to St. Paul�s United Methodist Church.
Gordon was born Sept. 29, 1916 in Camden AR. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served as a Quartermaster, landing equipment on Okinawa during WWII. He worked as a route delivery man for Service Industrial Laundry retiring in 1976. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #76 AF & AM in Independence and a Teamster. He was a member of St. Paul�s United Methodist Church where he served as the Chairman of Trustees and belonged to the Methodist Men�s Club.
Gordon was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years Eve Amerine in 1999. He is survived by daughter Lynn DeCamp and husband Ernest, Springfield, MO; son Graham Amerine and wife Sandra, Branson West, MO; son Mike Amerine and wife Donna, Blue Springs, MO; son Gary Amerine and wife Shirley, K.C., MO; daughter Sue Coleman and husband Raymond, Sedalia, MO; daughter Anita Woolf and husband Steve, Independence, MO; brother Frank E. Amerine, Houma, LA; grandchildren Greg DeCamp, Sara DeCamp, Shelli Leonard, Stacey Schroeder, Shawn Amerine, Kim Patel, Jason Amerine, Alicia Amerine, Susan Moore, Matthew Woolf, Lindsay Woolf; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
