Beverly Ann Amos, a woman of faith, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022 with family by her side. She was 81. Beverly was born to Floyd and Winnie Ferguson on December 29, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Beverly was a very active woman her entire life. She grew up on a farm in Arkansas and graduated as Valedictorian from Nemo Vista High School in 1958. She was a catcher on the softball team and played basketball as well. Beverly founded the first powderpuff women’s softball league in Lee’s Summit and coached for many years. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, visiting different lighthouses, gardenias, book clubs and her bible study. Beverly just genuinely enjoyed being around people. She made all effort to meet with her Western Auto coworker’s on Tuesday’s at Cascone’s to catch up on life and was very active within her church. Labor day was always a day she looked forward to as well for the homecoming/family reunion festivities. Beverly’s family was her world. She was a doting grandmother to 8 wonderful grandchildren and never took a day forgranted. She was very thoughtful and had a bubbly yet formidable personality. She never met a stranger. Beverly will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
Beverly is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Kilbourn (Kevin), Jill West (Shannon); son, Mark Amos (Erica); 8 grandchildren and her dear friend, Jack Amos.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Kenneth and Larry Ferguson.
