James “Scott” Amos, 58 of Liberty, MO passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Benton House of Kansas City, MO. Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. A graveside inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Greenton Cemetery near Odessa, MO. Donations may be made to Parkinson’s Research. Scott was born May 20, 1960 in Independence, MO to James Dean and Mary Jane Mitchell-Amos-Perusch and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1978. He had worked as a tool and die maker for Baader Linco for several years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding ATV’s and camping. He was a member of the Christian Church and had attended the Community of Christ. He was lifelong member of the NRA and childhood member of the Boy Scouts. Survivors include; his wife, Barbara of the home; a daughter, Lindsey Frazier and husband Matthew; a son, James Bradley Amos; 2 step daughters, Shana VanGilder and Laura Akins and husband Cody; his father, James Amos and wife DeAnna; a sister, Debbie Towles and husband Tim; 6 grandchildren, Kale Thomas, Liam Thomas, Landyn Frazier, Kaysen Frazier, Roman Silvius and Jameson Locke an uncle, nephews and cousins.
