Richard Andersen

Richard (Dick) Duane Andersen, 77 of Blue Springs, MO, passed away suddenly on Oct 10, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 6:00 pm, Mon. Oct. 15, 2007 at the Stone Church, 1012 W. Lexington, Independence, MO. Visitation will follow in the Luff Auditorium at the Stone Church. Richard was born in Independence on Nov 9, 1929 to Howard and Carol Andersen. He graduated from William Chrisman in 1947, Graceland College in 1949, and the University of Kansas in 1951. Richard faithfully served the Lord as a full-time minister in the Community of Christ (RLDS Church in Norway, Denmark, Hawaii and other locations in the United States, His greatest joys in retirement were spending time with his grandchildren and serving as a chaplain and guide at the Community of Christ Temple and as a chaplain at Independence Regional Health Center. Richard’s survivors include his wife Wanda, daughter Susan Pennington and fiancé, David Brouse, son Kent Andersen and wife Pamela and four grandchildren of Blue Springs, as well as his sister Lynda Yarrington of Independence.
