Gene Anderson

Bryan Eugene “Gene” Anderson, 74, Bates City, MO passed away July 29, 2014. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Sunday, Aug. 3 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. A graveside service will be at 1:30 pm, Monday at Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society Greater K.C. Chapter, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave, Kansas City, MO 64105. Gene was born July 14, 1940 in Pittsburg, KS. He was a heavy equipment operator who worked for Kat Excavating Co.in Bates City, MO and retired in 2008. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #101. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks, fishing, smoking various meats and flying radio-controlled airplanes. Gene was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Dorothy Anderson and brother Bud Anderson. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years Carol Anderson, of the home; son Buddy Anderson and wife Billie, Napoleon, MO; brother Richard Anderson and wife Judy, Independence, MO; sisters Lottie Flynn-McCluskey, Tucson, AZ; Dottie DeShazer, Independence, MO; step-granddaughter Joie Ronspiez, Blue Springs MO and many nieces and nephews.
