Harold Freeman Anderson

Harold F. Anderson, 90, of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2007 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Community of Christ South American Mission Fund in Bolivia. Harold was born July 31, 1916 in Van Scoy, Saskatchewan, Canada to Lewis E. and Rosetta Adelaide (Carress) Anderson. After attending William Chrisman High School he received a BS in Psychology from UMKC. He had worked for the City of Kansas City, Missouri as Chief of Electrical & Elevator Inspectors for many years before he retired. He had also served as president of the National Elevator Inspectors Association. He was a member of the Community of Christ where he served as a lay minister and High Priest. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was married to Mary I. Anderson and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage until she passed away in March of 2007. Survivors include; a son, G. Duane Anderson and his wife Marlene of Bolivia, South America; a brother, J.D. Anderson of Creston, IA; a sister, LaJune Welborn of Lee’s Summit, MO; 4 grandchildren, Chris Anderson and his wife Heidi and their son, Carter of Greensboro, SC, Corey Anderson and his wife Georgia of Modesto, CA, Bradley Anderson and Brian Anderson both of Lee’s Summit, MO and several nieces and nephews.
