Karen R. Anderson (Carver), of Independence, MO, a woman who loved angels, gained angel wings of her very own on Monday April 19, 2021. She was 79 years old. Karen was born on September 12, 1941 in Collins, Iowa and was born the only daughter to Ralph and Esther Carver, with two brothers, Ben, and Ed. As the Iowa Country farm girl, Karen will be remembered as “Mimi,” to her grandkids and friends of her grandkids and “Gimi,” to her great grandbabies, who she loved with all her heart. She was known for her sassy attitude and ways in life and her outgoing and sharing heart. Karen had a strong passion and love for her cats and flowers, her faith and trust in the Lord above, as well as her never ending love for her two children that she was very proud of and loved so much. She was a proud member of the Eastgate Christian Church in Independence, MO and she will be missed by so many people in her life. Karen is lovingly survived by her daughter, Julie Whiteaker, and son, Darrell Anderson; grandchildren, Kebra (Justin) Oakes, Kalen Whiteaker (Kassi Ethington), great-grandchildren, Rayna and Weston Oakes; brother, Ben (Georgia) Carver, brother-in-law, Roger (Barbara) Anderson and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Esther Carver; brother, Ed Carver, and son-in-law, Danny Whiteaker.
Respectfully, the family will be having a private graveside service with immediate family to honor their loving mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend. Karen will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence, MO.
