Kenneth R. Anderson, 82, of Independence, MO, passed away, Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2004 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Cornerstone Congregation of the Community of Christ Building Fund or to the Music Arts Institute of Independence Missouri. Mr. Anderson was born March 18, 1921 in Beaver City, NE to Russell and Maree (Mosher) Anderson. He served in the U.S. Army at the Battle of the Buldge in the 550th Airborne Infantry Division where he was part of the glider corp. Some of his war mementos are a part of the Museum of Liberation in LeMuy, France. He was a bricklayer for over 30 years, employed by William Randall Construction Company and Classic Masonary. He was a member of the Cornerstone Congregation of the Community of Christ Church. Kenneth was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Anderson in 1985; his daughter, Sandra Anderson in 1998; and 2 brothers, Donald Anderson and Ben Anderson. He is survived by wife Georgia Anderson, of the home and his daughter, Patricia Wilson and son-in-law, Richard Wilson of Independence, MO; 4 grandchildren, Spencer Wilson, Miranda Wilson, Nicole Swanson and her husband Craig Swanson; 2 sisters Darlene Sanders, Onalaska WI and Dorothy Steffen of Kansas City, MO; 3 step children, Gregg Stevenson, Lana and Don Seaver; and 4 step grandchildren.
