Marilyn Kay Anderson, 67, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on March 29, 2017, in Independence, Missouri. A memorial service will be held at Gudgell Park Congregation, 500 E. Gudgell Ave., On Monday, April 3, at 6:30 pm.
Marilyn was born on January 3, 1950 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Warren and Venita Benedict. She graduated from Truman High School and was a travel agent for O’Keefe Travel for a number of years. She married Robert “Bob” Anderson in 1970, and to this union were born three children.
Marilyn was a longtime member of Gudgell Park Congregation, and was very involved in their church events. Her pride and joy were her four grandchildren – she never missed an opportunity to spend time with them, and was the loudest cheerer at all of their sports activities. She is loved and will be dearly missed.
Marilyn is survived by her husband and best friend of 46 years, Bob; children, Linda Anderson, Karen Sablan (husband Dan), and Chris (wife, Beth) grandchildren Soren, Lexi, Dominic and Kai; sister, Marcia Hattey and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Nancy.
