Norman D. Anderson, 75, passed at his home in Blue Springs, MO on Sept. 9, 2016. Norman was born Sept. 9, 1941 to Ishmael T. and Velma E. (Carney) Anderson in Kansas City. MO, both proceeding him in death. Also proceeding him in death his daughter Trudy Anderson, his sister Janice June Neidig and his step-father Warner Linn Byram. Norman is survived by his uncle William “Bill” Carney and his wife Geri of Topeka KS. Norman has one brother Edward W. Anderson and his wife Shirley, of Independence, MO and one brother-in-law John D. Neidig of Oak Grove, MO. Norman married his high school sweetheart Linda L. (Hurley) Anderson on June 6, 1963. Linda preceded Norman in death April 3, 2016. Norman and Linda grew upon the close-knit neighborhood of Northeast both graduating high school in 1959. Norman had a life-long career at the United States Postal Service putting in more than 30 years. The post office was his life. Norman was very proud of his family and his ability to provide a good living for his wife and two daughters. Tobie is the first born in June 1964. Trudy was to follow in August 1966, she left us too soon in 1984.In June of 1992 a grandson, Jalen A. Anderson, was born to Tobie. Jalen was the pride and joy of his grandparents. Jalen is forever blessed by the love they shared. Linda left us in the blink of an eye, we are devastated by her passing. Linda received a teaching degree from UMKC. She loved teaching but her family came first. To be with her girls she drove a school bus, worked in the school cafeteria. In 1994 she began carrying mail for the United States Post office. She carried mail in any and all weather for 12 years. She is a best friend and an angel. She was someone you could always count on with a smile on her beautiful face. Linda was preceded in death by her father Lester W. Hurley, her daughter Trudy and her beloved grandmother, Opal B. McDaniel. Surviving Linda is her mother Delores Kobler of Raytown, MO. sister Patty (Hurley) Albertson and her husband Tom of Lee's Summit, MO; sister Lorrie Kobler of Lee's Summit, MO and brother Kenneth W. Hurley. God has blessed this family with many nieces and nephews as well as great and great-great-nieces and nephews adding many, many branches to our family tree. Norman and Linda were privileged to have many life long friends who give us strength at this difficult time. It is our wish at this time that you join us in a gathering of family and friends to celebrate memories of love.
