John Anthony Andrews

John Anthony Andrews, 95, of Independence, MO passed away January 21, 2016. John was born in Kansas City to Jacob and Mary (Lach) Andalikiewicz. He was a proud Air Force Veteran serving in WWII as a Tech Sargent. John performed aircraft maintenance with the 26th Air Depot Group, USAAF, North Africa. It was during his service that he was awarded the Meritorious Service Award, and Commendation for detached service to Malta. John was also selected for Wright Field after VE Day. Upon his discharge, he met and married the love of his life, Shirley Campbell. John worked for Vendo and retired from Colgate-Palmolive. Survivors include his wife Shirley Andrews and son Craig Andrews. John is preceded in death by his parents, son Kitt Andrews, sisters Josephine and Annie, brothers Boley, Steve and Charles. Per John’s request cremation has taken place, and services will be private.
