Mary Angell, 84, of Independence, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 surrounded by her family. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A service will follow at 2:00 pm at the chapel. Mary was born on March 7, 1932 in her home in Independence, MO to George and Mary Lynn. She was a Fort Discovery childcare provider for 18 years at Elmgrove Elementary. She enjoyed photos, travel, family time, and she baked the best pies ever! Mary will be remembered by her daughter Kathy Curry and husband Dr. Howard T. Curry of Oak Grove, MO, sons Charles Angell II of Independence, MO, and Gerald Angell of Fort Meyers, FL; grandchildren Angela Berry and husband Alan, Adrianne Salyer and husband Rick, Amber Hinton and husband Mike, Mary Barber and husband Mike, and Carrie Berry and husband Jordan; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Angell in 1985 and her siblings. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
