Virginia E. (Sorrentino) Angotti, 87, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Friday, Jan. 18 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will be said at 6 pm, Thursday followed by visitation from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel. 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family requests contributions to Kansas City Hospice, Our Lady of Mercy Country Home or the Rose Brooks Center.
Virginia was born Oct. 13, 1925 to Eugenio and Rosina Sorrentino. She was a homemaker and babysat many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved spending time with her family, baking Italian cookies and watching the Chiefs.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul Angotti, son Frank Angotti, sisters Molly Botkin and Diva Sorrentino and brother Louie Sorrentino. Survivors include her children: Paul E. Angotti (Pam), Fred Angotti (Patty) and Cheryl Angotti; sister Betty Sivigliano (Joe); nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
