Anita Louise Allen

Anita Louise Allen, 98 of Lee’s Summit passed on to her Heavenly home on September 20, 2024. Visitation will be 1 p.m., September 28, 2024 with services following at Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence, MO. Graveside services to follow at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens.

Anita was born August 15, 1926 in Greer, MO to Everett and Chloe Hall. After graduation from Northeast High School she worked for the telephone company while she waited for the love of her life, Monte, to return from WWII. Anita married Monte on June 8, 1947 and enjoyed 70 years of marriage with extensive travels around the world. To this union they were blessed with three loving daughters. As her daughters grew older she then worked many years with her husband at Monte Allen Woodwork Co. Anita was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother/GiGi. Most important to Anita was her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Monte, daughter Diana, and sister Wilma Geraldine. Anita will be lovingly remembered by her daughters; Monica (Mark) Kurelac, Jill (Warren) Calvert; grandchildren, Karren Colbert, Justin (Lauren) Calvert, Matt (Ali) Calvert, Lauren (Jeff) Taylor, Ashley (Eric) Silkwood and adoring great grandchildren; Natalie, Emily, Claire, Benton, Ellie, Lucy, Ari, Ozzie, Sullivan, Monroe, and Ashby. The family would like to extend gratitude to Megan and the caring staff at John Knox Village and her hospice care team.
