Michael Anthony, 41, was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He died unexpectedly on January 14, 2021 in Kansas City, MO. Michael was born to Dennis Anthony and Peggy (Shrout) Roe in Independence, MO. He was baptized at First Christian Church of Independence as a youth, and graduated from Shawnee Mission South, Class of ‘97. Michael was a big personality. His winning smile, boisterous laugh, and witty jokes made him the focal point of any room. His motto was to live each day to the fullest. He loved traveling, meeting new people, and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Owen Anthony and DeWitt Shrout. He is survived by his father Dennis (Tami) Anthony, of Stockton, MO; mother Peggy Shrout Roe of Overland Park, KS; brother Christopher (Jennifer) Anthony of Kansas City, MO; sister Melissa (Ryan) Russell of Gardner, KS; grandmother Betty Anthony of Independence, MO; grandmother Betty Shrout of Independence, MO; as well as two nieces and four nephews. He will also be missed by his stepsisters, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Cremation is planned, with family members gathering at a future date to remember a bright light that burned out far too soon.
