Dick was born on May 6, 1921 in Syracuse, NY to Leon and Maude Anthony. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War II. He married his Nelta Mae on July 25, 1964 and loved every moment with her. This was a second marriage for both of them and between the two of them there were 8 children. Together they attended Grandview Community of Christ Church. Dick and Nelta loved to go boating, water-skiing, ride his motorcycle, and square dancing. Later in life, Dick joined the band “The Prime Timers” where he played the fiddle and later on moved to the mandolin. Once Nelta fell ill, he was always by her side as her caregiver until her death in 2013. After her passing, Dick began attending services at St. Sabina Parish. He was able to take part in the Veteran’s Honor Flight and was a member of his local VFW and American Legion.
Dick will be remembered by his son Richard Anthony of Lake Havasu City, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nelta and two daughters Janice Nelson and Laurie Procter.
