Wayne Lee Antrim, of Lenexa, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2022. He was 75 years old.
Wayne was born on August 6, 1947 to Keith and Billie Antrim in Richmond, Kentucky. He graduated from Henry Clay High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning a Combat Infantryman's badge. He went on to attend college at Eastern Kentucky University. During his time at university, Wayne met the love of his life, Bonnie, and her son, Keith. Soon after, Wayne and Bonnie married. From their union came a son, Ryan, completing their family of four. Wayne received his bachelor’s
degree the same year that Bonnie earned her nursing degree at Eastern Kentucky University and Keith graduated from high school.
Wayne was very active in his free time, participating in multiple triathlons throughout his life. He was also an avid painter excelling in the acrylic medium. Wayne loved music, and being a musician himself, he taught guitar to his son, Ryan. Wayne was a dedicated Christian and was very active in the Pittman Road Church of God.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Billie; his wife, Bonnie; and his siblings, Keith Francis Antrim, Mary Katherine Sibley, and Dan Allen Antrim. He is survived by his son, Ryan (Allison) Antrim; stepson, Keith (Ann) Preston; siblings, Arthur (Mary Lee) Antrim and Neva Antrim; and four grandchildren, Matthew (Mikala) Preston, Daniel (Emily) Preston, Andrew Preston, and Willow Antrim, and two great-grandchildren; Sophie and Eliza Preston.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, January 9th, 2023 at 10 am at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E 39th St. Independence, MO 64055). A private family inurnment will follow immediately after the service.
