Edith Arnold

Edith Leota Arnold, 81, Independence, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 10, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Friday at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Immanuel Baptist Church. Edith was born October 25, 1927 in Windsor, MO the daughter of Ward F. and Gussie (Christian) Williams. She was a 1945 graduate of Lincoln High School. She was an active member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. She married John A. Arnold on May 21, 1947. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Arnold; brother, Guy Williams; sister, Ethel Alcorn; and her parents. Survivors include her children, Jim Arnold of Blue Springs; Evelyn Raymond of Independence; Bob Arnold of Olathe, KS; Sheila Arnold of Kansas City; Kathy Rosenberg of Olathe, KS; Cindy Keith of Independence; Julie Dokos of Olathe, KS; Randy Arnold of Buckner; and Darryl Arnold of Tucson, AZ. 23 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother in law, David Arnold and sister in law Peggy Arnold.
