Thomas E. "Tom" Arnold

Thomas Edward Arnold, 77, of Independence, MO, passed away at his home Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Speaks Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 9-10:00 a.m. in the chapel. Cremation. Private interment in Mound Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to John Knox Village Hospice, 400 NW Murray Rd., Lee�s Summit, MO 64081. Tom was born March 21, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to William and Alice (Malone) Arnold. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII. Mr. Arnold retired after 30 years of service in 1986 from Wonder Bread and Hostess Cake. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris (Johnson) Arnold of the home; six children, Tom Arnold of Pleasant Hill, MO, Gerry Arnold of Raytown, MO, Debbie Shrout (Gene) of Sugar Creek, MO, Kenny Arnold of Blue Springs, MO, Becky Hestand (Jeff) of Blue Springs, MO, John Arnold (Kenna) of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren Jeff and David Arnold, Scott and Adam Arnold, Jennifer Shrout, Kellen and Amanda Arnold, Hannah and Olivia Hestand, William and Lydia Arnold; 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters Irma Arnold and Barbara Moore.
