Max L. "Grandpa" Ashworth

Max L. "Grandpa� Ashworth, 84, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Entombment in Mt. Washington Mausoleum. Max was born December 17, 1921 in Maitland, MO to George and Elizabeth (McIntire) Ashworth. He was the last surviving member of twelve children of which he was the eleventh born. "Grandpa� as he was known to the community worked as a machinist at Armco Steel for 35 years before retiring in 1986. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed tinkering with tools. Mr. Ashworth was very proud of his family and personally raised three generations. He is survived by his grandson Michael L. Ashworth; granddaughter Jacque Smith and husband Robert; grandsons Max W. Ashworth and wife Tonya, James Michael Ashworth; great-grandchildren Michael Albert Ashworth, Michael Anthony Ashworth, Kyli Koch, Dakota Ashworth. Mr. Ashworth was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mae Ashworth in 1995, his son Jack Ashworth in 2001, and his daughter Ruth Ann Ashworth.
