Betty June Audet, 93, Independence, MO passed away Monday, November 10, 2014.
Betty was born June 9, 1921 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Clarence and Jeannette (Herman) Lyman. She owned and operated her own beauty shop on the Independence square before WWII. After her children were grown Betty worked as a secretary for the Kansas City schools retirement system. Betty was a Girl Scout leader and PTA President at North Rock Korte Grade School while her daughters were growing up. She was a member of the Community of Christ Blue Ridge Congregation. Betty enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid mystery reader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Audet, Jr. in 1996 and her parents.
Survivors include her daughters, Janice Finger and husband David, Linda Hinote, and Susan Armstrong and husband Michael; grandchildren, Jennifer Walzcak, Ashley Willey, Lindsey Finger, Michael Heaviland, Rachel Hinote, Joseph Hinote, Ryan Armstrong, Melissa Thompson, Amy Guidici, Michael Bock, and Kayla Richey; 14 great grandchildren; four nieces and additional family.
Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community of Christ Blue Ridge Congregation.
