Riley Eugene “Gene” Ault, 93 of Independence, MO passed away at Ignite St. Mary’s Blue Springs, Sunday, October 9, 2022. Gene was born in Kansas City, MO May 21, 1929 to Charlie and Lean Mae Thompson Ault. He graduated Marshall High School in 1947. He joined the Air Force and served from 1947 to 1950.
In June 1952 he married Sherrelle Arrison. He and Sherrelle had two daughters Cindy and Pamela. All have preceded him in death.
He had a 25 year career working at TWA as an Aircraft Electrician. Gene was a member of Eastgate Christian Church, Independence, MO.
On December 27, 1996 he married Viola Maxine McCoy Ault who preceded him in death March 2, 2021.
He was, also, preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Dewitt Ault.
He is survived by his brother Richard Ault, San Francisco, CA, brother-in-law Ronald (Beverly) McCoy, Nelson, MO, step-daughters, Karen (Jim) Thomas, Port Tobacco, MD, Sharon (Charlie) Kellogg, Independence, MO, and Kathy (Gary) O’Neal, Farley, MO, six step-grandchildren, and 17 step-great grandchildren.
He was a cheerful, optimistic, generous, kind, appreciative gentleman who loved people and was loved in return.
Visitation with funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 39th Street, Independence, MO with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., with services to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Nelson Cemetery in Nelson, MO.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
