Jon Everett Bagley

February 8, 1977 — March 29, 2021

Jon Everett Bagley, 44, of Independence, MO, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021. A visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington, Independence, MO 64052, with a service at 2pm, also at Carson-Speaks. Cremation will follow service, with Jon finally being inurned at Mt. Washington Cemetery on Saturday, April 10, 2021, near his father. Jon and his twin sister, Cindy, were born on February 8, 1977 to Wilbur and Phyllis (Billups) Bagley in Topeka, KS. They were the second of 4 children, with brother Wes before and Leonard to follow. Jon grew up in Independence and graduated from William Chrisman High School. As a child, Jon became involved with the Boy Scouts, working hard for many years, finally earning his Eagle Scout rank and membership into the tribe of Mic-O-Say. For the past four year, Jon enjoyed his job as a meat cutter at Price Chopper. He was a fantastic employee; a true “people person”, who loved working with and helping customers. Jon was also a KU fan and an avid deer hunter and fisherman, with much of his time, since childhood, spent outdoors, with his family in Warsaw. Jon was adventurous, traveling with friends or alone, as he did on a trip to Canada; something many would be hesitant to do alone. Jon was a member of a “Jazzercise” Studio for almost 10 years and found much joy from the friendships he made there. He motivated and supported countless others while they got and stayed healthy, at the same time, having fun, meeting new people. Jon also enjoyed video games, movies, and cooking. He loved to go out and dance, anywhere there was music. Jon was a Halloween and birthday fanatic; planning yearly parties down to the last detail, even if it was his own birthday. Most of all, Jon loved his family, which included his two beloved “Fur Babies”, his cats, Shy and Sky. Jon is survived by his mother, Phyllis Bagley; twin sister, Cindy Bagley; brothers, Leonard Bagley (Angie) and Wesley Bagley; a niece, Zoey Nichols; and two nephews, Samuel Nichols and Logan Bagley. Jon is preceded in death by his father, Wilbur. Donations to Wayside Waifs may be made in lieu of flowers.
