Donald Henry Bahm, 86, Grandview, MO passed away Tuesday, February, 18, 2014.
Donald was born September 24, 1927 in Fremont, NE the son of Henry and Mildred M. Bahm. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran having served during WWII. Donald graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and later received his Masters in Business Administration. Donald worked for over 30 years with Bendix, retiring in 1991 as senior project engineer. He was a member of Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Counsel 4387. Donald was also a member of Toastmasters International. Donald enjoyed photography, astronomy, science fiction, Stephen King novels and camping. He had a particular interest in the U.S. Space Program.
Survivors include his sons, Donald S. Bahm, David J. Bahm, Dennis H. Bahm, and Douglas R. Bahm and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, James, Stephen, and Karen; brother, James G. Bahm and wife Barbara Ann. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Bahm in 2007 and his parents.
Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Coronation of Our Lady, 13000 Bennington Ave., Grandview, MO 64030. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum with Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
