Cynthia Bailey

Cynthia L. (Leighton) Bailey, 61, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at her home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday at Carson-Speaks Chapel Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at New Salem Baptist Church. Burial in Salem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Cynthia was born February 23, 1946 in Boise, ID to Clement and Minnie (Clarida) Leighton. She was a 32 year member of the CWA and had retired from AT&T. Mrs. Bailey lived for her family and loved spoiling her grandchildren. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite holidays of the year where she cooked for everyone. Cynthia is survived by her husband of 39 years, Phillip Bailey of the home; sons Stephen Bailey, Charles Bailey and wife Sandra; grandchildren Gabrielle, Ian and Phillip Bailey; sister Sue Plank; brother Henry Leighton; sisters Nancy Armstrong, Mary Anderson, Sid Siren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
