Lane E. Bailey, 84, a long time resident of Independence, MO was at home when he passed from this world to be with the Lord on July 29, 2004. Services will be 2 pm Saturday, July 31st at the Heart of God Fellowship, 17902 Whitney Rd, Independence; with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8:30 pm at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home. Mr. Bailey was born in Shelby, Linn County, MO to William and Rosa Bailey, and lived in the Brookfield, MO area before moving to the Kansas City area in 1950. Mr. Bailey was a WW II veteran serving from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Independence. Before his retirement in 1985, he and his wife owned and operated the Bailey Bedding Co. on Truman Road in Kansas City, MO. His parents; sons, Rickie and Terry Bailey; a daughter, Phyllis Shouse; brothers, Glen and Gale Bailey; and a sister, Hazel Welch, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anna Lorene Bailey; daughters, Diane Richardson and husband Wayne, Linda Cartwright and husband Joe. Barbara Johnson and Bob Hamm, and Judy Bailey; sons, Darrel Bailey and wife Val, Ron Bailey and Lydia Dayton; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Billy Bailey and wife Mildred; sister, Helen Vincent and husband Elmo; a sister-in-law, Helen Bailey.
