Chuck Baker, 71, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021.
Chuck was born on October 10, 1950, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Cecil Grant and Annie Marie (Robbins) Baker. He was one of six children.
Chuck was born and raised in Independence, Missouri, graduating from William Chrisman High School, class of 1969.
He met Nancy Smith in kindergarten, and they later became high school sweethearts. They married May 2, 1970, and shared 51 years as husband and wife. Together they have 3 daughters.
As a Master Electrician for IBEW local union #124, Chuck not only worked hard at his profession, but in everything he did. He volunteered with his church, Liberty Street Community of Christ, helping any way he could. It was his nature to always do for others. Chuck was a big advocate for neighbors as friends, and truly believed in helping each other whenever you could. He was a tremendous man with great values and love. We can all learn a little something from him, rather it be how to work hard or how to help one another. He demonstrated a tremendous work ethic, and instilled it in all whom he taught.
Chuck touched many lives spread throughout this country, but all form a community that respects the man, even if they didn't always like him. He was blunt, but not crass. He was rarely subtle. He was honest, dependable, and solid as a rock. He had a unique sense of humor, and Chuck will be greatly missed.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Nancy Baker; daughters, Amy (Aaron) O’Brien, Dena (Eric) Edmunds, Beth Williams; grandchildren, Tristan, Rhiannon and Anastasia O’Brien, Grant, Dimitry, and Addison Edmunds, Lyric Wehr; sister, Ruth Frisbey; twin brother, James “Jim” (Kathy) Baker; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
