Donna M. Ballantyne, 76, Independence, MO passed away June 5, 2012. Services will be 2 pm, Monday, June 11 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday at the chapel.
Donna was born in Lexington, NE. She was a registered nurse who graduated from the nursing program at UMKC and worked at Resthaven Care Center (now The Groves) and was the 3rd floor supervisor. She later worked at Western MO. Mental Health before retiring. She was a member of the Farview Restoration Branch. Donna enjoyed collecting all types of bears, going to craft shows and movies.
Donna was preceded in death by sons Paul & Daniel Ballantyne and grandson Brandon Hankins. She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years Jim Ballantyne, of the home; daughters Nancy Taylor and husband David, Grandview, MO; Laura Hankins and husband Jeff; son John Ballantyne; daughter Nancy Smith and husband Darren, all of Independence, MO; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
