Vincel A. Ballard, 85 of Independence passed away Fri. Sep 16, 2005 at Cedar Valley Health Center. Visitation will be 1 - 2:00 pm Tue, Sep 20 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Private burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Mr. Ballard was born on Aug 15, 1920 to George and Ruth Ballard in Lowry City, MO. He had been a dairy farmer and construction worker most of his life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed wolf hunting with his wolfhounds. He was an army veteran of WWII and a member of the Clinton VFW. He was preceded in death by a son, David in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Laretha J. Ballard. Three children, Cheryl Furnell, Gary Ballard and Lisa Ballard. Eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and eleven nieces & nephews.
