Larry Allen Ballew

Larry Allen Ballew of Independence, Missouri passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 74 years old. Larry entered this world on April 23rd, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Lucille and Gene Ballew. Larry served his country as a member of the US Air Force and Coast Guard for 24 years.  He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence.  He was a lifetime Mason member, long-time sailor, and member of the Jacomo Cruiser Fleet, Boy Scouts of America member and leader, and friend to many. Larry loved the outdoors, and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and traveling with family and friends. 

Larry leaves behind his loving wife Judy of 52 years, his two sons: Jeremy and Josh Ballew, along with their wives Sheena and Beth; his six grandchildren: Amber, Marley, Bennett, Micah, Finnegan, and Harlow; and his two sisters, Barbara Larson and Terri Steinberg.

A visitation will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church of Independence on Saturday, June 17^th from 9:00-11:00am with a funeral Mass following at 11:00am.  There will be no graveside service.
