Darla Banks, 60, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, April 19, 2019. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, April 22 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO, 64052. A service will take place at 10am on Tuesday, April 23 at the chapel. She will be laid to rest at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence.
Darla was born on February 21, 1959 in Independence, MO to Lawrence E. and Frances (Groshong) Banks. She enjoyed reading, drawing, crime shows, and animals. She would feed the birds outside of her room every day, including a cardinal she called “Pretty Boy”. Most of all, Darla loved to take care of people. She would babysit children and care of the elderly any time she was asked. Her loving and caring nature will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her mother Frances Banks of Independence, MO; brother Dennis Banks and wife Janet of Cameron, MO; niece and nephews Hillary, Kevin, and Colt Banks; Seaná Padfield and several other cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father in 1986.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Rainbow Center in Blue Springs.
