Barbara Kramer, 93, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on January 8, 2025. She was born on October 8, 1931, in Seneca, Kansas, to Charles and Leora Snow.
In 1951, Barbara married Lewis Kramer, and they soon made Independence, Missouri, their home where they raised their family. As a devoted homemaker, Barbara poured her heart into her family.
Barbara loved spending time in her yard, especially taking care of her flowers. She enjoyed gathering around the table for a card game, sharing stories and laughter over a cup of coffee, and giving her time and talents to others in any way she could. Before her husband passed away in 1999, Lewis & Barbara made crafts together in their retirement years as well as volunteered at the Harry S. Truman presidential library and their church. Barbara had a quiet, gentle way of making the world brighter.
Her greatest pride and joy were her family. She is survived by her sons, Dennis Kramer (Linda) and Don Kramer (Pam), her daughter, Kim Brody (Jon), her grandchildren, Kyle Kramer (Vanessa), Joel Kramer (Brittany May), Blake Brody (Victoria), and Eastin Brody, and her great-grandchildren, Daken and Oliver Kramer, and Kit Brody. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces, Linda (Craig) Carver and Leora (Kevin) Onka, and many other family members and friends who were touched by her kindness and warmth.
Barbara’s love and generosity will forever be remembered. She lived a life full of family, faith, and thoughtfulness, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, located at 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. A celebration of Barbara’s life will follow at 2:00 PM at the chapel.
