Barbara Jane Newhard of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully at the age of 76. She was born on September 4, 1947, to John and Alice Newhard, and bid farewell on August 1, 2024.
After graduating from Truman High School in 1965, Barbara had an esteemed career in information technology at Continental Airlines and Hewlett Packard. Her passion for her work was evident to all who knew her, as she dedicated her time and expertise to the field of information technology. Her colleagues and friends remember her as personable and outgoing, leaving a lasting impact with her warm demeanor and professional dedication. Barbara's vibrant spirit and kind nature made her not only a respected colleague but also a cherished friend to many.
Outside of her career, Barbara found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid lover of outdoor sports and activities, finding solace and excitement in pursuits like motorcycling and watersports. Her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors brought light and energy to her days.
Barbara's family and friends, both living and deceased, were an integral part of her life. She is survived by her brother, Tom Newhard; nephew, Jeff Newhard; grand-niece, Kylie Newhard-Bertram; and grand-nephew, Grant Newhard. In the loving memories of those who have passed, Barbara is reunited with her parents, John and Alice Newhard; and sister-in-law, Sharon Newhard.
A visitation in honor of Barbara's life will be held at 10:00 AM on August 16, 2024, at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at 11:30 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to pay their respects.
Barbara's legacy of warmth, dedication, and love will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, her spirit forever alive in the hearts of those she touched.
