Ferna Barber

Ferna A. Barber, 89, of Independence, MO passed away October 12, 2012. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. service on Wednesday, October 17, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO. Ferna was born March 9, 1923 in Independence, MO to Floyd Edward and Nora Maybelle (Frisbey) Denham. She spent years working as an upholsterer and furniture designer. Ferna was a member of the Church of Christ Temple Lot, and enjoyed her time doing mission work in Mexico. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel German. She is survived by her husband, Calvin Barber; three children, Marcia German, Richard German and Eileen Mueller; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Ferna was a generous person, who was always looking to make life easier for others. This world is a better place because of her.
