Eva Marie Bardo, 93, Raytown, MO passed away Oct. 7, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am, Friday, Oct. 11 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 7099 Blue Ridge, Raytown, MO 64133; entombment at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am before Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Operation Breakthrough, 3039 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64109.
Eva was born July 12, 1926 to Joe and Angela Klos in Kansas City and graduated from East High School. She worked at Southwestern Bell as a teenager then quit to raise a family. Later she worked for Western Electric and retired in 1982 after twenty-seven years of service. She and her husband of fifty-five years, Roy D. Bardo, traveled Europe and Australia. She volunteered countless hours at Operation Breakthrough as one of its first volunteers. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband Roy D. Bardo in 2002 and her companion following her husband’s death, Chet Hannah. She is survived by sons John “Jack” Bardo and wife Diane; Brian Bardo and wife Belinda; grandson Paul Bardo and wife Rhonda; granddaughter Angela Bardo; great-grandson Alex Bardo and grand dogs Bella and Kloey. The family would like to thank caregiver Sharon Michael for her compassionate care of Eva.
